ABOUT THE COUPLE
If you wanted a fairytale, storybook type of love to read about, just go ahead and stop here. Steve and Anna have been together for years, from high school sweethearts and coworkers to enduring different high schools and college semesters abroad without each other. Now normally details like that wouldn't mean much in these blogs of mine, but so much of their romance lasted and spanned across oceans and months. Steve, quite the romantic, hid love letters in Rome in a church courtyard during his trip abroad. His plan was for three months later, when Anna planned on visiting the same area during her experience abroad, he would send her on a scavenger hunt to find the hidden love notes. Who says chivalry is dead?!
ABOUT THE DETAILS
Upon arriving in Port Clinton (who knew a place this cool was in my state?!), I was mesmerized by the scenery. The sun was shining, a light blind blowing, and you could hear the sound of the waves crashing against the boardwalk in the distance. Steve and Anna were getting ready in separate areas of the venue; excited, nervous, and anxious to see one another. Just before we started photos, a downpour (and by downpour, I mean it was raining sideways) cut loose. We quickly abandoned our photos to hurry and make adjustments to the ceremony setup. Their original plan was to get married under a beautiful altar right alongside the lake. Unfortunately, the wind took the altar down and the waves were too big to put the couple, or the guests, near. So in a "hail Mary" move, everyone rushed to moved the chairs to seat the 125 guests attending the wedding that day up onto the patio, a not-so-ideal setup for a wedding ceremony. Despite everything, Anna and Steve beamed when they saw each other. Her hair continued blowing fiercely across her face during the ceremony, but sparks flew when they kissed as husband and wife. The rest of the evening followed suit and, as some would say, they lived happily ever after.
ANNA + STEVE,
You two were such a joy on your wedding day, despite the rain and the wind, your altar crashing down, and last minute changes for just about everything. You were flexible, yet flawless. Thank you so much for choosing me for your wedding, and for introducing me to Port Clinton! I hope you two continue to love each other as fiercely as you've shown me. Can't wait to see where life takes you next!

A big thanks to Lyndsey (far right) who recommended me to Anna for her big day. I photographed Lyndsey and Joe's wedding back in April of 2015 (thanks to a mutual friend!) and her and I have remained friends ever since.
