I met Marlee and Preston several months ago for a wedding consultation. At our meeting, they were very quiet, so I anticipated them needing a little help during their engagement session to get them out of their comfort zone. I could not have been more wrong! These two are such naturals in front of the camera and are so young and in love.

JD and I met way back in high school. I think we had a few classes together, but the one I remember most was chemistry. Our teacher was relatively mediocre, so much of the students bonded over comparing notes, asking each other questions, and shooting "the look" when the teacher said something ridiculous. JD and I were a year apart in school so we lost touch once I graduated high school, but as fate has it, The Ohio State University communications major brought us back together! It was during that time that he told me about a girl he started dating. This is where their story begins.
Naomi and Michael were referred to me by a friend of theirs. Once meeting them, it was obvious how crazy they were about each other and it made me even more excited to document their love story! They booked early this year and will be getting married on a very popular date: 8-18-18!
Kelsey and I went to the same high school, although she was a year behind me. We had a few classes together and had some mutual friends so we always seem to stay connected. So when her and Dallas got engaged, of course I was thrilled to be asked to shoot their wedding!
Years ago, I recruited this couple for a stylized engagement session to my new-to-weddings second shooter ease get her creative juices flowing before we started shooting weddings together. At the time, Natalie and Johnny had recently started dating and they were cute as ever. It just so happened that just a few short years later, just before this shoot took place, Johnny got down on one knee to pop the question, making it perfect timing for yet another stylized engagement session for another second shooter.
Kelsey and I have known each other since middle school. I'm not really sure how, or why, we became friends in the first place, but it has been years! She has a contagious laugh and passion for people that is unlike anyone I've ever met. I'm lucky to call her a friend and to have as many memories as I do with her.
When Arielle and Erik first saw my work, it was because I had just photographed friends of theirs several months before when they got engaged. Arielle reached out to me and booked a consultation with me. Sitting an Panera, I saw this extremely happy girl walk in and I knew it was Arielle; she told me Erik was on his way, so I just asked her a little bit about her, just to kill some time.
I've known Andrea for 6 years now. We met when we were both attending Ohio State - Mansfield back in 2009. Over some conversation, we discovered both of us were aspiring photographers and we've been in touch ever since. A few months ago, she reached out to me asking if I could mentor her, and what my advice was on her upgrading her camera. After a few messages back and forth, I talked her into getting a better camera than mine (wait, what?!) and we also arranged a time for her to come down to Columbus to spend the day with me, figuring out her new camera.
One of my bride's from back in June recommended Nick + Chaney to me. A family friend offered to do their wedding photos, but they still wanted some professional engagement photos, so when Chaney asked her friends, Jenna recommended me!
It was great getting to meet them and chat about their plans for the future. Their wedding in December will be so amazing, and they both can't wait to get their life together started. They way Chaney looks at Nick is so beautiful, and I'm so excited to see their marriage blossom!
I spent the morning with Erin and Wes running around Granville. When I first arrived, Erin had her heart set on some abandoned property a little ways from their house. She told me how amazing the big red barn would look with the overgrown fields, and my heart started to jump. Any photographer knows how fun barns and fields are!
When I was in high school, a friend of mine talked me into joining a recreational soccer team with her brother and some of his friends. I reluctantly agreed, and quickly learned how terrible I was at soccer. Despite my lacking abilities at dribbling, passing and shooting (because those are only minor skills, right?), I had a blast and loved my team; Matt was one of those people. Our soccer team grew close; close enough for another Matt (Holly's brother) to make a comment that would forever change his life: "You know, it would be kind of cool if my sister started dating one of you guys."
The first time I met Zach and Gracie, it was a Sunday afternoon in a Panera. I'm usually never nervous for client consultations, but for some reason they had me rattled. After the consultation, I left thinking "Wow, I really don't know if they are going to book me but I sure hope they do!"
So I have known Caitlin for about two years; we started going to the same small group when I began attending Grace Fellowship. Ever since then, her and I and the rest of the women from that small group have always enjoyed each other's company.
And then Caitlin met Jamie, former Ohio State football player and man of her dreams. They had a whirlwind romance and in just a few short months, a ring was on her finger and a wedding date was set! Before I knew it, Caitlin was asking me to photograph her day and I couldn't be more excited!
